Transition Spire Product Shoot

SPIRE | spahyuhr |

adjective
A top part or structure that tapers upward, such as a rock formation or steeple.

When working on ideas to shoot the Transition Spire, my mind kept going to the visual of something tall. The bike needed to be shot atop a clear object to serve the name in my mind. And with Squamish being home, the location ideally showed off the area.

To achieve this in the dense landscape around Squamish meant finding a clearing. The clearcut the Spire was shot in is one of the more recent in town, and after scouting the area, this large slab of granite aligned perfectly with the visuals swirling about in my head.
After hauling lights and other equipment in, the evening sky turned on a character-rich display thanks to threatening rain. Once done, the rain set in, treating us to a fresh rain smell and dampening the deep dust on the long forest service road drive back into town.
